Catholic remains undefeated

Kicked off with color guards, the National Anthem sung by Alexandra James and capped off with fire works and the blessing of the soccer field by Fr. Lewis, Springfield Catholic High School hosted their first home boy’s soccer game. They remain undefeated by outscoring the Central Bulldogs 5-0. Cullen Barr scored two goals in the first half, one being
assisted by Adam Entrup. Matt Libel added to the first half scoring with an unassisted goal.
The second half started off with an unassisted goal by Justin Bowenschulte. The game was topped off when David Bailey moved from the sweeper position to right forward and scored an unassisted goal in the last few minutes of the game.
The JV also held the Central Bulldogs scoreless with four goals on their scoreboard. In the first half, Matt Simpson scored the first goal assisted on a direct kick by Levi Millsap. Carson Shaefer later scored a goal, assisted by Niko Temofeew. In the second half Austin Lewis scored an unassisted goal. Catholic was also credited with another goal by a own goal by Central. Congratulations to JV for a win in their first game.
