Catholic upsets Cassville

In their third meeting, Catholic came out slow allowing Cassville to score in the first half, Franco scored 20 minutes into the game. Catholic came out strong in the second half, scoring 55 minutes into the game off a direct kick and again 78 minutes into the game off a PK after a Cassville player fouled Cullen Barr in the box. Defense continued to hold a very good and agressive Cassville offense out of their goal.
Cassville was previously undefeated and are currently ranked 7th in the state in the Class 2 Coaches Poll. This was a good win for the younger, yet determined Catholic team. Congratulations on finishing the game strong.

In the second game of the evening, the Catholic JV also defeated the Cassville JV team. Tonight, the Catholic JV team followed in the Varsity footsteps and played hard winning 5-1.

The Varsity’s record is now 7-5, and JV is 3-1-1.
Next game – Thursday, October 4 at 4:30 pm against Crocker at Catholic. Again Varsity will play first with a full JV game to follow.

Congratulations men for a great game. You all played like a team tonight and did a great job of passing the ball to each other. You were able to neutralize their offense by playing such a good offense yourselt. The team is starting to gel very nicely and realize that you can come back from being down a goal or two and still win. Congrats and keep up the good work.

Congratulations boys!! Fantastic win! Your coming together during the past two weeks has been remarkable. Playing strong Class 2 and 3 teams is preparing you well for districts. Joe and Justin you are really bringing the guys together.

In the second game of the evening, the Catholic JV also defeated the Cassville JV team. In their previous meeting, the game ended in a 0-0 tie.
In out previous meeting JV took a win over Cassville 1-0 scored by Austin Lewis.
