Victory in First Game of Kickapoo Tournament

Posted by soccermom under: Boys News; Irish Soccer .

In a game that could eventually have significant implications on the preception by others about Catholic’s inaugural year success, Catholic defeated Nixa 2-1.  Nixa, a class 3 school, battled with Catholic maintaining a 0-0 score at half.  After Nixa was able to slip the ball passed the defenders and the goalie to score first, Catholic was awarded a penalty kick after a foul in the box.  In the last minutes of the game, Catholic secured the win when Justin Bowenschulte did a quick direct kick through to Cullen Barr.  Barr was able to chip the ball over the diving goalie to give Catholic the go-ahead goal.

Game notes:
First Half:
no goals
Second Half:
Goal 1- Nixa Corbin Sikosi
Goal 2 – David Bailey (penalty kick)
Goal 3- Cullen Barr (assist Justin Bowenschulte)

Catholic will now face Pembroke Hill at 8:00 am and Waynesville at 12:00 noon.  Join us in cheering Catholic to another victory – both games will be challenging and exciting for us!
