Catholic to District Finals

After a slow start, Catholic finally got on the board 30 minutes in the game when Josh Moncada found Cullen Barr wide on the left side of the field, after beating the defender, Barr shot pass the goalie hitting the far side in the net. Three minutes later, Matt Libel served it from the left side and Cullen Barr finished another goal.    Again only 3 minutes later, Justin Bowenschulte headed the ball to Matt Libel where he got on the board. Catholic finished the half with a 3-0.

In the second half, Cullen Barr was able to get his third goal at 47 minutes. At 75 minutes, Michael Wester threw the ball into Austin Lewis who was able to get a good touch, beating the defender and driving the ball toward the goal was able to finish with the 5th and final goal of the game.

Catholic’s defense once again denied the opposing team’s offensive attacks.  GKs Matt Simpson and Korbyn Behl combined for the shutout.  This was Catholic’s 8th shutout of the season. Congratulations guys!

Just wanted to give shout out to the Fighting Irish. As an NCA grad, I look forward to Thursday and it has been great to see you guys jump right in and have such a wonderful season. NCA, Greenwood, and Catholic should all be here to stay over the next few years.
