Lady Irish open with win

The Lady Irish traveled to Lebanon to open the season against the 2007 Class 2 District 11 runner-up Yellowjackets.  Tara Bailes put Catholic on the board in the 17th minute after taking a nice pass from Anna DeLong.  Tara converted a penalty kick in the 25th minute to provide the final goal of the match.  Rachel Scott earned the shutout in her first game as the Lady Irish keeper.  Anne Prenger, Kathleen Garrison, Ronnie Renner, and Andrea Parker played very well defensively for the Irish holding the Yellowjackets to four shots for the match.

The Girls will travel to Rolla today for a weekend tournament where they will open with Columbia Hickman this evening and play Rolla and Washington tomorrow.
