Catholic Adds Win to Record

Catholic Varsity improves it’s record to 10-1 against a conference rival Marshfield Varsity.  Catholic Varsity got on the board early when only 4 minutes into the game, Justin Bowenschulte gave Cullen Barr a leading pass on the left side of the field that Barr was able to place in the far right side of the goal.  Catholic was able to add two more goals in the first half, one at 14 minutes when Luke Straus scored on a pass from Cullen Barr and another at 16 minutes when Taylor Arens scored on a corner kick by Justin Bowenschulte.

Catholic was able to continue to add to their score using their teamwork and passing game.  The following goals were scored in the second half:

46 minute – Taylor Arens scored a ball in the air over the Marshfield GK; assist by Jusin Bowenschulte
55 minute – Taylor Arens scored a PK when Cullen Barr was fouled in the box
63 minute – Niko Temofeew gained control of a lose ball and scored
76 minute – Reid Harbach scored on a direct kick right outside the 18 where he was fouled
79 minute – Justin Bowenschulte scored on a corner kick by Luke Straus

With a final score of Catholic 8 to Marshfield 0 with noteworthy stats: Taylor Arens ended with a hat trick; Jusin Bowenschulte had a goal and three assists.       

In the early game, Catholic JV defeated Marshfield JV 2-0.  Austin Lewis scored the first goal at 17 minutes off a lose ball in the box.  In the second half, Jim Hill added to the score with a goal off a pass from Brandon Kratz.

   

Catholic next regular season game is next Tuesday, October 7 at Rogersville.  Catholic Varsity will play in the Camdenton Tournament starting Friday night.
