Catholic Records Shutout Over Waynesville
Posted by soccermom under: Boys News .
Catholic faced a very agressive Waynesville team earlier in the year when they were able to beat them in a close game with a final score 1-0. Expecting Waynesville to avenge their loss, Catholic came out prepared and agressive. As in earlier games, Catholic’s passing game allowed them to score first and fast. On a drive toward their goal that started on the right by Adam Entrup, he was able to center the ball to David Bailey in front the goal. Bailey found Cullen Barr on the left side, where he was able to fire the ball past the Waynesville keeper at only 40 seconds in the game.
At 7 minutes, Justin Bowenschulte had a hard shot on goal that bounced off the GK. Austin Lewis was able to follow up on rebound giving Catholic their second goal.
The third goal was scored by David Bailey at 37 minutes after the Waynesville defense was not able to cleanly clear the ball and David Bailey was able work the ball past the GK and place the ball into the net.
Although the Waynesville made several drives toward their goal, the Catholic defense, Reid Harbach, Connor Dahlberg, Nick Kofron, Joshua Moncada and GK Levi Millsap was able to stop all their attempts. Allowing Catholic their 10th shutout of the year, with Catholic 3-0 win.
Catholic will face Rolla at 10:45 am tomorrow, Saturday, October 25.
