State soccer: Catholic comes up short in semifinal loss to Trinity

From the Springfield Newsleader: — The Catholic High School girls’ soccer team dominated every statistical category in its Class 1 semifinal match with St. Louis Trinity Catholic.
Except for the one that matters most.
Catholic enjoyed edges in shots, shots on goal, corner kicks and possession in its game Friday at the Anheuser Busch Center, but Trinity put two shots in the back of the net, making an early goal stand up to hand the Lady Irish a 2-0 defeat.
