Catholic falls Short in Championship Game

Posted by soccermom under: Irish Soccer .

Catholic Fighting Irish faced the Kickapoo Chiefs in the Championship game on the Brown Division bracket.  The first 40 minutes were scoreless by both teams with Catholic maintaining their passing game that they continue to improve on each game.  A couple of shots on goal came up empty by Catholic in the first half.

The second half started fast for the Kickapoo Chiefs as Ian Kennedy dribbled through Catholic players and hit the left side of the goal passed the Catholic GK only 21 seconds in.  Catholic regrouped but was never able to get the goal they needed to even the score.

Catholic fell to Kickapoo Chiefs 0-1, finishing second in their bracket.  With Vianney’s withdrawal from the tournament it gave Catholic an opportunity to face cross town opponents that they have not been given an opportunity to play since their program has started.  Win or lose in these competitions, we competed well and obviously played on an equal basis with the other schools.
