Catholic Tops Bolivar 7-0

Posted by soccermom under: Irish Soccer .

VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS – Both Catholic and Bolivar faced wet conditions in tonight’s game but Catholic finished on top.  Catholic got on the board fast in the 2nd minute when Adam Entrup had a hard strike on the left side of the field into the far right side of the goal.  David Bailey got on the board in the 12th minute when he headed a ball in over the GK off a serve by Josh Moncada.  Only two minutes later, Justin Bowenschulte scored with an assist by Reid Harbach.   The fourth goal of the half was off a corner kick by Luke Straus that Mitchell Moncada was able to hit in on the far post.

Justin Bowenschulte scored quickly in the second half when he was able to get the ball from a scramble and slip it pass the defense and GK.  With the comfortable lead, Catholic was able to provide a lot of playing time to the entire bench.  They took advantage of their time by adding to the Catholic lead.  In the 68th minute, Burke James was able to score from an assist from Evan Craig.  Evan Craig was able to get a goal of his own later in that minute from an assist from James Straus.

Catholic was able to win the game 7-0 with a combination of 10 different players either with goals or assist.  The entire bench played a solid game despite the weather and field conditions.

The next schedule game is on Thursday, October 15, at New Covenant Academy.  Since NCA does not have lights, Varsity will play first at 4:00 pm and JV plays second and limited to only one half.
