Catholic Drops First Game to Rockhurst

In their first game of the season, Springfield Catholic Boys dropped their first game to their Class 3 opponent, Rockhurst 5-0 on Saturday, August 28, 2010.
Catholic was able to play with Rockhurst for 20 minutes of the first half. GK James Straus was able keep the game tied with two spectacular saves with 17 and 15 minutes left in the first half. With14 minutes remaining in the first half, Rockhurst was able to score on a ball that Catholic tried to clear in front of their goal. They were able to score another goal with less than 2 minutes to go in the first half.
Rockhurst was able to add three more goals in the second half as Catholic felt the heat and exhaustion of their first game in 90+ heat on the Rockhurst turf surface.
Catholic JV plays Branson JV in Branson at 6:45 on Tuesday, August 31. Both JV and V play Waynesville on Thursdsay, Sept 2, at Catholic with JV playing first at 4:30 and Varsity game at approximately 6:0o pm.
