Catholic Falls to Pembroke Hill in Second OT
Posted by soccermom under: Irish Soccer .
Catholic allowed Pembroke Hill to get on the board only 3 minutes into the game. Catholic was able to tie the game 24 minutes into the game when Mitchell Moncada was able to score off a perfect pass from Adam Entrup.
Catholic controlled much of the second half but was unable to score. When PH did make any runs toward the goal, the Catholic defense and GK Levi Millsap was able to deny their attacks. At the end of regulation time, PH made one last attack on goal that was once again denied by GK Levi Millsap, however after some discussion among the officials he was issued a yellow card for contact after the play. After much debate and after the clock had expired, PH was awarded a PK. PH and their coach displayed great sportsmanship in tapping the ball to the Catholic keeper to force the game into OT.
The game was decided when a PH was able to get the ball past a Catholic defender and eventually the Catholic keeper in 1 v 1 situation.
The next game is Tuesday, September 7, in their first conference game against the Marshfield Bluejays. It is a home game, at SCHS soccer field with JV at 4:30 and V to follow.
