Catholic Defeats Waynesville 3-0

After last week game was postponed due to rain and lightning, Catholic and Waynesville faced each other at 5 pm on Thursday, September 9 at Cooper 1. With the memory of last year’s loss to Waynesville, Catholic team came out strong and controlled much of the game. Still it took 11 minutes before Catholic was able to get on the board. Connor Dahlberg was fouled in the box and the officials awarded them a PK. Luke Straus converted the PK giving Catholic the 1-0 advantage. Only 4 minutes later, after a well placed corner kick and scramble in front of the goal, Dallas Moses was able to pass the ball to Josh Moncada who headed the ball pass the GK. Catholic ended the first half with the 2-0 lead.
Catholic continued to control most of the game but did not add to the score until the 69 minute when Evan Craig scored (assist to Niko Temofeew). The final score was 3-0.
Catholic’s next game is Saturday when the Catholic Varsity team will play CBC JV in Springfield. Any changes to game time or location will be updated here.
