Irish Take Parkview Tournament Championship

The Fightin Irish won three consecutive matches in less than 24 hours to take home the Parkview Tournament Championship.  After a hard fought 2-0 win over a Neosho on Friday afternoon that included goals by seniors Gabe Straus and Tommy Giovanni, the Irish met the Carthage Tigers for the second time in in a couple of weeks.  After a scoreless first half senior Patrick Greenley found the back of the Carthage net on a nice strike from just inside the 18 yard line to give the Irish a 1-0 lead in the 56th minute of the match.  The Fightin Irish and sophomore goal keeper Michael Sallee battled for the next 24 minutes to hold on to an emotional and hard fought 1-0 win.  The Irish claimed the tournament championship trophy later that afternoon with a 5-2 win over West Plains on goals by Blake Weber, Ben Rash, Patrick Greenley, Isaac Zimmerman and Cameron Katzfey.

That same day the Fightin Irish JV side claimed the Carthage JV Tournament championship with a 3-2 win over Neosho in the championship match with goals by Justin Swope, Andrew Olson and Kameron escorts in los angeles
