After last nights wonderful banquet(thanks Gina Harbach) I wanted to acknowledge one more time what a wonderful group of boys the Catholic soccer team has. Although I was really proud of Taylor getting the POY defending award I want to recoginze again the 3 - invaluable back line up of Reid, Connor and Josh. As Taylor puts it, "They make me look good". Very rarely does anything get past them! They are awsome to watch with their speed and agility! Thanks for doing a wonderful job all season! Reid, Connor and Josh you guys are all POY defenders in my book! Carol Arens

Great tournament with two wins over quality opponents! The St. Louis Post Dispatch has an article in the Sunday paper with a short recap of the title game, a picture also. Keep working hard, you all deserve your state ranking!

As one of the senior's father, I would like to commend the entire team for playing hard in this district final loss. It's sometimes very hard to find comfort in a loss; however, I would ask that the players and fans reflect on this just ended season. In your inaugural season you accomplished the following: undefeated at home, beat a top 10 ranked class 2 team (Cassville), lost 0-1 to the 4th ranked class 1 team (Pembroke Hill), season record 17-8-1, and won the first game of the season against Greenwood. A lot of you did not really know each other before this season started. I knew that you were a special bunch of young men when you gathered around my son Sam when he sprained his ankle during the MSU team camp. Your respect and support of each other is a kindness that that should make your parents proud! Remember the progress that you made during the season, both as a team and individually. Sometimes we get too focused on the end, the prize to truly appreciate the journey. It has truly been a joy to watch you all practice, play, and interact with each other. I wish you and your family the best! Continue the tradition!

Just wanted to give shout out to the Fighting Irish. As an NCA grad, I look forward to Thursday and it has been great to see you guys jump right in and have such a wonderful season. NCA, Greenwood, and Catholic should all be here to stay over the next few years.

No matter what happens, this has been an awesome 1st season. The team has been a joy to watch (although more joyful some nights than others). The first Greenwood game, the last Cassville game, and the Monet game will remain in our collective memory for some time. It has been a beautiful thing to see these guys bond and gel as a team. We are very lucky to have two great coaches. Thank you to the many people involved in making this possible for our boys. Go Irish!!
