SCHS Boy’s Team Shin Guard Requirement - Please Note

All soccer players on the SCHS Boy’s Soccer team will be required to wear shin guards that have the NOCSAE label or have it stamped on the shin guard. NOCSAE means National Operating Committee on Standards for Athletic Equipment. This standard helps ensure the shin guards will provide adequate protection.

June 29th Sunday Full Field Play 7:30-9:00 pm

July 1st Tuesday 7:00 -8:30 pm

July 6th Sunday Full Field Play 7:30-9:00 pm

July 8th Tuesday 7:00-8:30 pm

July 10th Thursday 7:00-8:30 pm

Still time to register for camp if you haven’t take the time to do so – as a team we will be attending the Team Camp, July 22-25 – http://www.msusoccer.com/regForm.html - the list of SCHS players attending continues to grow.

Our own SCHS camp will be held on at the SCHS Soccer fields the prior week – the week of July 14, 2008 at SCHS Soccer fields – specific information will be provided next week.

First day of SCHS Boys Soccer practice - Monday - August 11, 2008

Sports physicals will be required in order to participate in any practice – so make sure you get a physical prior to that date. We had some players sitting and watching last year until their physical was completed and submitted.

Bailes, Prenger, DeLong named to All-State Team

The Lady Irish placed three girls on the Missouri State High School Soccer Coaches Association (MSHSSCA) All-State team announced today. Tara Bailes and Anne Prenger were named to the first team and Anna DeLong was named to the second team. Congratulations to all three girls! The entire team can be viewed at www.sgfsoccer.com.

The Lady Irish were ranked 6th in the state in Class 1 in the final ranking of the season.

Catholic places five on 1st Ozark All-Freshman team

Catholic placed five players on the first SGFsoccer.com Ozark All-Freshman team that was announced today. Shelby Hatz, Natalie Smid, Andrea Parker, and Rachel Scott were selected to the first team and Carsen Baron received honorable mention honors. The strength of the Irish freshman class was apparant in the 16 players selected. Behind Catholic’s five players, Kickapoo, Parkview, and Nixa each had two players chosen, while Glendale, Rolla, Camdenton, Ozark, Bolivar, and Marshfield had one player each. The future looks very bright for the Irish! Congratulations to all the girls.

Seven Irish players earn All-Region Honors

Anne Prenger, Tara Bailes, Anna DeLong, Maddy Renner, Shelby Hatz, Natalie Smid, and Rachel Scott were named to the Missouri State High School Coaches Association Class 1 All Southwest Region team today. The coaches voted Tara Bailes the Regional Player of the Year, Anne Prenger the Regional Defensive Player of the Year, Anna DeLong the Regional Offensive Player of the Year, and Rachel Scott the Regional Goalkeeper of the Year. Congratulations girls!

Lady Irish fall to St. Dominic

The match began in a cold, steady rain as Catholic squared off with the defending state champion for the right to advance to the final four. The Irish began with great intensity and generated several decent chances in the first 20 minutes maintaining a significant presence in the Crusader half. Defensively Catholic was able to contain St. Dominic and limit their scoring opportunities. The game winning goal came from Signe Novak in the 52nd minute when she knocked a loose ball just inside the right post from the left side of the penalty area. Brittany White added an insurance goal in the 66th minute. Catholic seniors Tara Bailes and Anne Prenger were superb in the final game of their Irish careers. Their spirit and intensity spread throughout the team as the girls played one of their best matches of the season against the state’s #1 ranked squad.

Twelve Lady Irish players receive All-District honors

Catholic placed seven players on the first team, three on the second team, and two received honorable mention in the recently released Class 1 District 12 All-District selections. The players are selected by a vote of the coaches following the district tournament. Irish 1st team players are: Tara Bailes, Anne Prenger, Anna DeLong, Maddy Renner, Shelby Hatz, Rachel Scott, and Natalie Smid. Second Team players are: Ronnie Renner, Carsen Baron, and Andrea Parker. Kathleen Garrison and Rachel Herron received honorable mention. Congratulations to all the girls!

Lady Irish to face St. Dominic in Quarterfinal

Catholic will square off against St. Dominic in the state quarterfinal round in Columbia for the second year in a row. The Lady Crusaders are the defending Class 1 state champions and are ranked #1 in the state in the latest MSHSSCAA poll. The game will be played at Hickman High School on Saturday, May 23. Kickoff is scheduled for 11:00 am.

Catholic to face St. James in Sectional

The Lady Irish will face St. James (16-4) a 3-2 winner in penalty kicks over Laquay in the District 11 Championship game. The game will be held at 6:00 pm on Tuesday evening at the Tiger Soccer Complex in Waynesville. Directions to field are as follows:

I44 east to Exit 159. Turn left at top of ramp. Just under a mile turn left at the East Elementary School sign. Parking lot is just beyond soccer and baseball field.
